Early to bed tonight. Early to rise on Sunday.

I'm coaching a combined NCAA - USACFC fencing meet tomorrow at Notre Dame.

Should be a fun and long day.

I've got a couple Olympians lined up and will be talking to my kids, I've got a couple World Cup, World Team and National Cup fencers who will be talking to my kids. An NCAA and ACC Champion will be helping me coach. Hopefully they will get some good advice.

    Good luck!
    Thanks.

But the Purdue team will get KILLED by the Notre Dame team. ND has 13 NCAA Championships under its belt.

Purdue is a very good "club" level team, we have won the Midwest Fencing Championships. Honestly one of the best 'club level' fencing teams.

I've been coaching Purdue for 3 years.

We are competitive and always near the top of the USA Collegiate Fencing Conference championships. But we don't/can't really compete with the Division 1 NCAA teams that are stacked with international level competitors. This year, sadly, we simply don't have the budget to travel to the USA CFC championships which are in Virginia Beach, VA this year.

We will attend, and we hope to finish in 1st, in the MFC Championships later this year. We may need some luck to accomplish that feat. One of my former fencers is leading the Michigan State team this year. Another of my former students is an MFC individual champion for Minnesota. So Purdue will have a rough road. I'm hoping we can avoid those potholes at the MFC. But THIS weekend, my hope is we finish in the Top 3 for the Sunday "club" events. Notre Dame will take 1st. Not sure who will take 2nd, 3rd, 4th. . . . But hoping P.F.C. ends up in the TOP 3

Woke up at 5 am for some unknown reason.
Decided to make the best of it and made doughnuts from scratch(about a 2 hour process).
3 kinds. Maple glazed(from my very last bit of last years maple syrup found sealed in a canning jar still :) powdered and cinnamon sugar.
Made 5 of each kind and a little mountain of doughnut holes. Though mysteriously most of the holes have vanished.

I would wager when the kids get up they will appreciate it.

I live in Warsaw. Went to it a few times. Not impressed and shed few tears when it closed. Don't understand the fascination with Schoops.
That is because you have not experienced the absolute garbage burgers to be found in NWI, especially the ones north of 30. Schoops is like a ruby encrusted golden gift from the treasure vault of Xerxes, by comparison.

I don't understand the fascination with burgers, period. A slab of ground beef on a bun. I love me some beef, but a burger is about the last thing I will order anywhere, even (especially) at Schoops.

I guess that could be true. It was more of a "curiosity" for me too eat there, and it was not all that popular. I had (have?) one friend who used to use it as a regular lunch meet up spot with me.

It was a true diner format so it got crowded very easliy. The building was built to look like an old RR dining car from the outside. Schoops inherited the building from a prior chain that flopped. (Boston diner?) Popeye's eventually took the location. Tore the old building down and built a new store 2-3 years ago. Haven't tried it yet, although I have had Popeye's elsewhere. Seems to be doing ok.

That's so sad. Burgers are one of the great equalizers in the food world, enjoyed by the rich and poor alike. Every American should be able to enjoy a good burger.

Just when I'm losing faith in society, I see a little old lady smile and give up her seat for a pregnant
    man with a beard.
This reminds me of a video where a "male" goes to the ER. "He" tells them this is the 2nd ER "he" visits cause the other was wrong.

They run test and confirm that "he" is pregnant. "He" says that is NOT possible le as "he" is now a male, identifies and a male.

The nurse and doctor explain that "he" still has the female anatomy and that prior to "his" conversion "he" was a "she" can could get pregnant.

'He" again told then this was not possible and that they were wrong.

If you come back up north of us30 try this place.

    These are good.
Better than schoops in terms of flavor, size and price.

You must not of eaten anywhere worth a damn if you prefer schoops to just about anywhere else. I could see schoops being good if all you eat is fast food burgers

Schoops for jedi holds a sentiment place more than a OMG this burger is the best thing ever.

Grandpa loved hot dogs and burgers and growing up it was grandpa that took jedi out to get a burger or hot dog against the wishes of jedi parent or grandma.

So it's those memories that put a smile on jedi and make schoops a "safe place" to ignore this miserable, drama world for a little bit.

The Kmart cafeteria is gone. :(
The woodman mall restaurant is gone. :(
Boz Hot dogs (hammond, IN) is gone. :(

All locations my grandpa would take me for the "forbidden food".

I mean, octave grill was better than schoops. But miner dunns, burgerhues, and others, just don't have that smash burger crunch.
