I'm done screaming ... for now.
@DK ... thanks for the suggestion but that didn't work either. The USB ports are only "seeing" my external drives, flash drives, and IPod. Cameras and readers are not coming up.
Forgot to mention that I tried rebooting ... no success. When it froze up I shut it down for a few minutes ... no success.
The directions call for the camera to be off when you plug it into the computer. In the past, it always powered up as soon as it was plugged into the USB port.
If I had a MAC, none of this would be happening, unemployment would be at .03%, Jedi would be wearing black and carrying a GLOCK, and I would be shooting El Presidente's in under 4 seconds.

WD, I always start with rebooting the computer, just to make sure nothing is messed up when something that use to work doesn't work...
and I would think the camera has to be on for it to transfer but I'm no engineer...
