Hobart schools now delayed till August 24th

Current state of the new building (don't get me started) coupled with multiple employees going to a hot spot for a mandatory quarantine for 14 days. Let's do the math. 1st teacher day the 10th...start day 24th...math is hard.

I started my countdown 3 years before my date. Printed it out and hung it in my locker. It helped me get through that last stretch.

You're next job probably won't have the same level of risk. I worked in a newsroom after I left the mill. It was all I could do not to laugh during safety meetings. No 300 ton ladles with molten steel and no machinery in sight that could crush you. It was like a picnic.

You have skills that will be in demand and it's amazing how much you learn in the mill that translates to other jobs. Hang tough and stay safe, retirement is closer than you think.

I did 30 and out. I did not work 1 day longer than I had to. Good luck maintaining your sanity.

We have a couple guys well past their 30 and one of them just decided he was done one day, put in his notice halfway through the shift and that was it lol
