Great weekend. Went to an outdoor swap meet near Ligonier/Albion. Lots of junk for sale. Lots of farm animals and puppies. A few guns on tables. One or two groups set up seemed to skit the Federal dealer laws...

Sunday was a ride on the Pumpkin Vine Trail followed by a buffet lunch at Maple Indian Cuisine in Goshen. All around nice day!
Nice day for a bike ride.

    In what manner?

Were they private sellers selling to out of state people, or not doing due diligence in checking ID?

Were they FFL dealers not doing NICS checks?

    Inquiring minds and all that.

Mine was a seized AC compressor. You may remember the time my serpentine belt broke.

Take it with a grain of salt - I did not actually do any shopping,

The swap meet was set up outside in a pasture with no electric hook ups, etc. I did not have great cell service. I did not see any actual transactions but it seems it would have been difficult to run a NCIS check out there. I did not see anyone set up for filling out a 4473.

Now, for the casual sale, FTF, this would likely not be an issue, assuming the purchaser was an Indiana resident.

There were a couple of booths set up for a lot more, on their face, than occasional, casual sales. One vendor, at least, was exclusively firearms. With a sizable set on display. Looked like NIB stuff. Maybe it was just a liquidation of a collection? Perhaps. I don't know, but it certainly looked odd.

The swap meet runs every first weekend from May through ??? Maybe I'll go back sometime this summer and see whats up. Maybe not.

A friend of mine had told me about this swap meet/flea sale about 10 or 15 years ago. He said you could get good deals on FTF firearms sales in the Spring as Amish/Mennonite folks sold their shotguns/rifles from the previous hunting season. There certainly seemed to be a lot of that. But there were the one or two vendors that had the feel of being "dealers" whether they were FFL's or not!

You said you had already called a tow truck the other day so I didn't offer, but if you ever need me just call.
