Better than the other two places I tried...so what is a good local Chinese place?
Used to be The Golden Palace in Lansing, but it closed. J.W. Chen's in South Bend is my go to when I'm over there.

Japanese: Musashi in Chesterton or Fuji in Portage.

I like Uncle Chens Szechuan it is almost too hot for me.

They are really nice people and shooters too.
I've watched those kids grow up. There was another woman who worked the counter a few years ago. She was friendlier. The (older) lady who works the counter now can get very testy.

Since we’re talking about food…. Again.

Any recommendations for Family friendly places in or around Michigan city? By the zoo or mall?

We love Fiddlehead. Go there every time were up there.

It may not be family friendly though if you teach your kids that gays are bad. They are very proud.

Shoreline Brewery, Mateys, & Fish Camp are our go to's in that area. Mateys is mainly for eating outside for the view.
I've eaten at Shoreline Brewery the most. Tenderloin with a Smoke Stacks or Singing Sands is my order. Kid is not a picky eater, so that helps too.

Bubbles Ice Cream Parlor is your sweet tooth connection. Has a 50's diner/soda jerk feel. Kid and wife like it. I don't have a sweet tooth.

My kids aren’t picky at all…. But sometimes I regret all the food I exposed them to….. now they have a refined pallet and always are ordering the expensive items.

I never knew you guys were so passionate about food venues in Michigan city. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I’m not much of a sweets guy either …. But a waffle cone? You got my attention…

    I'm not a chain guy.
We had a membership at the zoo for a few years. Food after was a constant (or beer for my sanity). There is a Polish place across the street from the mall we keep saying we'll try.
