I wouldn't give my 3y/o a .50BMG Barret with incindeary rounds to shoot, why would you want to give terrorists nukes?

    GIVE....TERRORISTS....

Hrm, methinks those words don't belong here. We've not given them anything & I don't believe they've really been tied to terrorism.

I have a major problem with the "We have nukes & you can't" stance. What makes us better? Is this that manifest destiny :poop:?

If you lived in a nation w/out nukes & a country with nukes was constantly telling you what to do & ruining your economy with sanctions, don't you think you'd want to get out from under that foreign country's oppression?

It's in that spirit that I believe other nations hate us & wish us ill will. Either nuke the capitols & appoint governors for each new colony, or leave them the heck alone.

To draw a personal sovereignty parallel; If your neighbor set up checkpoints outside your yard & intercepted your mail/paper/packages & cut your phone/cable lines...wouldn't you try to retaliate?

Oh, that's right. The Constitution specifically states that we should seek out & maintain entangling alliances. Thanks for the reminder.

What alliances? We are still at war with PDRNK.

We have been smashing rogue states since our founding. That wookie suiter hero, Tommy Jefferson, smashed a rogue state and gave the USMC a sword and a line in their hymn.

Do you really think NK would be making threats if we hadn't immorally backed them into a corner for the last 5 or 6 decades?

North Korea attacked South Korea, our ally. They attacked us, not the imverse.

What sort of threat do you think NK actually poses to us? Do you really think we can defend against covert destruction by puffing out our chests? Why use missiles when they can smuggle stuff in through Mexico?

Nuclear, biological and chemical, just as they have stated.

Why missles? Because one ICBM over Nebraska will cripple the entire nation for indefinite, unknown period of time. One suitcase over the border would impact one city.

Where can I get my "Let's get mired in another foreign war!" magnetic tailgate ribbon?

Just because one realizes the threat of the PDRNK does not mean that one desires war. There are a myriad of options other than sending the 2ID into PDRNK as I have stated before.

So, International "Law" trumps national sovereignty now? I guess we do have a NWO after all.

Until NK attacks someone, they're just a big talker. They've not been aggressive. An attack upon them now would make us the aggressor.

    AOI:

Ability - NK doesn't have the ability to strike us. They do have limited ability to strike into Russia & SK. We have troops stationed there in defense. What more ability do you want?

Opportunity - NK doesn't have the opportunity to strike us or destabilize their region. Any aggression on their part would be quickly quelled. Giving terrorists the weapon is opportunity. Have someone else do their dirty work.

Intent - NK hasn't proven intent. They've certainly feigned it, but I don't believe it to be wholehearted. They plan to take back South Korea and have been vocal and demonstrate their will with every military action they've been taking in the last 4-6 years.

All 3 of these conditions must be fulfilled to justify a self-defense shooting. It's my opinion that this is applicable to foreign policy as well.

I suppose some of you feel that they've fulfilled all 3. I believe them to be at less than 50% on each. They bear watching, but invasion would be an aggression on our part, not theirs.

Highlighted in blue is your three conditions. What more do you need?

    GIVE....TERRORISTS....

If I remember correctly they collaborated with Iranians on Nuke Tech among other things. There is your sacred tie with terrorism. They terrorize South Korea, namely Seoul, with the artillery positioned at them day in, day out. What more do you need for them to be called terrorists?

Sovernignty... If my neighbor was THAT stupid to do something like that, more power to him. It wouldn't last long because of the outcry of not just my home, but every home on the block. Translate that into N/S Korea, you have a neighbor intent on destroying South Korea's home to claim the land for themselves(the north). Your analogy is just a bit off base.

With NK, the whole neighborhood is up in arms over NK's stupidity and hostility. Especially Japan who's seen missiles fly at them that could carry nukes. Yup, when another home starts shooting at my home, I'm going to create a barracade and shoot back. :twocents:

Oh, Iran is a terrorist nation? I suppose that makes Russia a terrorist nation for collaborating with Iran on Nuke Tech.

And when we had (or still do?) nukes pointed at a half-dozen or so nations, did that make us terrorists?

Or, is it just "different" in a way you can't articulate?

Yes, Iran has been funding terrorism, Hezbollah in Lebanon, the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, and other groups.

Yes, the USSR was the granddaddy of all terrorist nations. Funding and providing arms to terror groups over the world. Russia today has an interest in Iran. As the Russians are well armed, it is more problematic to deal with them.

And when we had (or still do?) nukes pointed at a half-dozen or so nations, did that make us terrorists?

Defending yourself is not terrorism. We did not pop missles off at anyone, but were going to nuke communists if fired upon.

PDRNK has been on the terrorist list for two decades (1987 when they bombed a RoK airline). It now has nukes.

PDRNK has been probing the USA for a while. Did you read about their most recent attack on us=>U.S. officials eye N. Korea in cyberattack - USATODAY.com

Thanks to the glorious nature of socialism the PDRNK is starving to death. It is run by an unstable nutjob who looks like the bastard child of Bea Arthur and the Frisch's Big Boy.

A dying rogue state can lash out and do us all tremendous harm.

Dood. Seriously? I can't believe you haven't been able to see past the end of your own gun for the last 10 years....

First, IRAN IS SUPPLYING THE TERRORISTS!!!!! Not just with arms and ammo, but PEOPLE!!!!! HELLLOOO!!

And if you haven't seen a missile silo lately, look them up. The only thing they are pointed at is the moon, clouds, stars, and the random people that walk above the silo for whatever reason... It takes someone punching in coordinates for them to be pointed at anyone...

Oh and when they were pointed at the USSR, uh, yea, that made the ignorant people on both sides pointing the missiles at each other terrorists.
