    You might want to recheck your serial number, Colt didn't start using that rollmarking until 1946.
    A 1912 Commercial would look the same on the right side of the slide as this 1912 M1911 does.

    Your small parts, thumb safety, slide stop, are off a much later pistol than 1912 also.

    i know for a fact that the slide didn't match the frame. and that is the only reason i felt ok with cannibalizing the gun to build another! the actual serial # is 5994 (i think, but would need to check) and everything points at it being an a colt frame. its a crying shame that they were separated in the first place!
