Congrats to you and her!
Curious, what did she not like about (if she didn't) Purdue to make RH her first choice?
No, she's 16. The school district refused to change their curriculum and challenge the students. She tested out of two grades and moved ahead. We really tried to keep her in the right grade, but she started getting bored. Our son is experiencing the same thing, but they won't let him pass through because he struggles with ADHD and they said he's not "mature enough" to move to the next grade. We told them that he's bored, but it hasn't helped. The school system in Virginia said they will fix that when he gets here.
Well, my daughter did not get the room and board scholarship, but after my visit to the campus, I think I'll let her turn down the other schools. That place is amazing and many universities can learn some lessons from them. I've NEVER heard a faculty member refer to themselves at teachers! They said their primary function is teaching and research is secondary. I almost choked when I heard that. They went on to explain how difficult the curriculum is, but their students enjoy the challenge. I guess I can now buy my "RHIT Dad" t-shirt.

In fact, we should have in INGO-RHIT gathering then for alums, students, family and friends.
y'all won't ever get anything planned / accomplished. Too much time will be spent on the planning / analysis and then the event will be over.
We won't let the EE or CS guys do any of the planning. MEs, Chem Es, and Civils can actually get results.
Team Que has decided wisely!
I'll go to homecoming in the fall and we can sit next to each other during the game.

That would be awesome! I did find out that she received the Senator Lugar Award, so that will help us out.
On another note, I went to Boot City and found a pair of stirrup motorcycle boots for $49! The very same pair was selling for $125 at a motorcycle rally I went to this weekend. I'll have to get back in there next time and price a nice pair of ostrich skins.
Just curious what kind of jobs you guys end up with out of RH? I know most are engineers, but what kind of things do you guys do..like buildings, sewers, cars, spaceships?
I had a buddy went there in 87 when we graduated, he was a smart dude...freshman year he was top of class and US Navy visited him, promised him the world as a fighter pilot. He enlisted to find out he had a vision problem that prevented him from seeing certain colors, he never got to fly, done his time and got out. Never went back to RH.......and now he runs financing at a well known car dealership.
Does RH produce any racing engineers? I have heard IUPUI has a great school for racing engineers.
That sounds like a fantastic idea... count me in!!
