    Glad they got him. Even though I think he's a loon and a criminal, it would be fascinating if he wrote a book about how he survived. I thought the same thing about that guy who bombed the Atlanta Olympics and then lived in the woods in N. Carolina for over 5 years: don't agree with him or want to make him seem like a hero, but it would be really cool to read a book about how he stayed alive.

    This guy must not have agreed, as he neglected to starve himself to death.

    Actually the author of the book came to the conclusion that Chris did that by accident. The kid ate a lot of seeds of a certain plant. The roots of the plant were edible but NOT the seeds. When he ate them it shutdown his system and he was unable to take in food. He also did not have a proper way to get help. This was based on evidence left in his journal.


    Update: Another mountain man of 27 yrs in Maine was just arrested.
