In the next few months. Its second in line to get on the road, a 1979 FXS is in front of it.When is that panhead showing up?
If so, why am I still laughing?
Now I'm laughing again at that post.I'm still trying to overlook the Honda Indian guys comment! LOL
Now I'm laughing again at that post.
Full disclosure, my older brother is an Indian guy, like the original Indians.
That's why I have no fear of him doing anything to that 53.
The same guncle that left me my 1950 FL left him a few vintage Indians.
You should hear us talk to each other.
It truly is a love hate relationship.Vintage bike is on my bucket list.

I catch myself looking at 70's Nortons.
I will take it under consideration. If up to it, a thread on bringing the panhead out of hibernation?
Good, I went for a ride tonight myself. Only one ahole on a bagger in Anderson acting stupid.Got out in time for a ride this evening...perfect weather for it.
Happened upon some bikers hanging out in a parking lot and figured, "what the heck...might be a chance to meet some folks". So I rode in, got off the bike, fired up a cigar, and struck up some conversation.
Mostly some older guys. Turns out it was a bunch of a Rolling Thunder guys on their way back from the Fort. They were up there planning an event coming up on Memorial Day.
Hung out for about 45 - 60 minutes.... great group of folks.

I met the girl at the Anderson casino and we had dinner at The Steakhouse in the upper building and watched a few horse races. They happen to have a new menu for a change, she ordered a huge bone in Pork Chop and I went for the Wagyu burger, ordered it rare and it showed up done. I brought half of it home and finished her Pork Chop. After I hit one of the local dive bars and once there I was reminded a few friends had gone to a new place in Tipton called The Shack... I think its a BBQ Place.
Anybody tried it yet?
Da boy has an '06 Yamaha R6 rotting away in his garage. He beat it up, abused it, and it needs basic maintenance and fixing. I am trying to talk him in to letting me have it (he lost the out of state title in one of his moves). Not counting the plastic that is broken, parts need are about $500 so far. Most fun part would be the carbs. I am sure they are gummed up.
Where is your favorite place to buy parts? I went to bikebandit long ago, but they are no longer around.
Thanks, I believe Mad Tap was where I stopped in after the last Tipton show and it was closed. I will give them both a fair chance. The Shack is the successor to the "Pizza Shack" and is no longer just a hole in the wall pizza place. It's owned by the same folks that run 10 West in Cicero. It just opened a week or so ago.
The BBQ place is "The Mad Tap". I have been there. I've had their brisket, wings, pulled pork, and beer mac and cheese. All of it was good. Definitely recommend giving it a try. I'm planning on doing a ride there again when time permits.
One of the reason why I switched to the trike.I took the cover off the Ultra last night and pulled it out of the wheel chock. The plan is to take it out this afternoon on its first 2024 ride. How do those things manage to get heavier every year?
