Everytime I go to the Indy 1500, I feel most things are overprised and I can support my local gun shops, buy cheaper, and help keep them in busness.

The last show , one person had a Reminton 7400 for 1500. Yes $1500.00 !! No scope just the rifle. He had it slung on his arm with a flag on it stating for sale. When I asked the price I almost had a stroke!!!! I queried him as to what on earth would have him think the rifle was worth 1500. His answer was "it is a custom made gun from Remington. Remington has to machine the barrels to screw into the reciever just right!!!! I am still in shock from that one.

I have read that the smell can get bad, but some guy cut one right behind me and destroyed the area. He didn't even seem to think twice about it. Wow! :n00b:

A few years ago I went to the Kane Co. show in IL. It stunk so bad in both buildings, I bailed after a quick walk thru. I swear I must have been the only guy there to take a shower that morning.

I had a 12 ga Win 1300 blued and wood furniture...trying to sell it for $250. Fair enough I thought. A guy had one on his table for $550, no joke, I asked him if was interested in mine to trade for a rifle plus some boot on my end. He looked me square in the eye and said he had no use for one and would have a hard time selling it. For $550 I'm sure its damn near impossible! I just laughed and walked away.

I saw the guy with the over priced Remington 7400. I laughed at him and told him he was joking, right? I told him I have several and never paid over $325 for any of them. I have all of the series as well, 740, 742, 7400, 750. In 30.06 and 308. My buddy bought a mint condition 7400 for $140 couple shows back.
