Jeff McHenry broke a drill bit cutting the holes needed in the receiver to mount it! It's a Lyman 48 S, the rifle is a reproduction of the National Match Special as described in Brophy's epic chronicle "The Springfield 1903 Rifles" on page 203. The stock also needed cut where the sight elevation sits at its lowest point.SWEET diopter sight on that one! Any permanent modifications needed to fit it?
Gorgeous!A WWII Remington 1903 had been on my wish list for a long time. When I attended the CMP AMC in August of 2020, I picked up this beauty at the Talladega Marksmanship Park. It has a RA 5-42 dated barrel. I believe the stock is a scant replacement stock; but, it has a beautiful finish.
Has it been rechambered to 30-06 or is it still in 30-03?Here is one of my 1903’s. Low serial number. #359
