I think you guys are seeing this from the wrong angle. Ms. Watts doesn't see gun owners as good guys. To her we're all just thugs and criminals and the gun is what makes it so. So that story I just read about the father shooting dead one of the perp's that held his daughter at gunpoint was just criminal-on-criminal crime to her.

Spot on. Of course it might be different if it was her own daughter whose life was in danger and a good Samaritan carrying a gun was willing to intervene on her behalf. The cause they're fixated on is very emotional in nature, it does not consider gun ownership from an objective stance.

My thoughts exactly! I like to think it was a scenario they somehow trained for; "o.k., if a bad guy ever tries to use you as a human shield, fake passing out while mom and I plug him".
