Hope they don't bring him in before he gets to see the new Star Wars. That would just be mean.;)

San Bernardino shooter?s friend Enrique Marquez charged over highway terror attack plot | Daily Mail Online

"IEDs found in the home shared by Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik after the attack in San Bernardino were filled with the 'smokeless powder' Marquez purchased in 2012, federal prosecutors said."

Good excuse to go after reloaders!

More seriously, though, that's not really a good choice for a bomb is it? Modern powder combusts rather than explodes, I thought.
The pipe causes it to act like an overpressure device much like the pressure cooker bombs did.

    Low explosives vs. high explosives.

Low explosives deflagrate, or burn (although they burn really fast), and high explosives detonate (basically convert to energy all at once).

What happens when a lot of it combusts in a sealed chamber - say a pressure cooker?

Why have these departments if they aren't allowed to do what they are set up to do?

Ah, but they ARE doing what they were set up to do, specifically, to condition people to tolerating more an more infringements on their freedom in exchange for supposed protection from evil-doers while doing absolutely nothing to stop the evil-doers so that even more infringements can be 'justified' and subsequently accepted based on the previous conditioning. It creates a downhill spiral via 'democratic' vote which is incompatible with a constitutional republic, but most Americans have already been brainwashed into believing that we live in a democracy rather than a republic, especially that the government can do absolutely anything so long as it is backed up with a 51% vote either in November or in Congress.

Don't forget the other, equally important purpose, which is to funnel tax dollars to innumerable private entities for support and infrastructure.

This is true. I guess I tend to focus narrowly on the theft of liberty to the point of sometimes overlooking the theft of money.

I'm thinking our only way out of this is a massive solar storm which brings the whole federal edifice irretrievably crashing down.

I keep checking the solar weather report, just in case...
