Tickets are now on sale for the Marty Brown Memorial Open Round #1 to be held June 27th at the A&A Optics range near Richmond, IN. This event (along with the Marty Brown Memorial Invitational to be held in Nov) honor the memory of Marty Brown, a rifle instructor with Revere's Riders who lost a nearly 4 year battle with ovarian cancer in 2017. Revere's Riders has partnered with Ovar'coming Together for this event and will donate a portion of the event proceeds to Ovar'coming Together's programs to support women with ovarian cancer.
Last year, we raised nearly $12,000 for Ovar'coming Together via the combined Marty Brown Memorial Open and Marty Brown Memorial Invitational events. We hoping to at least match that amount this year (but COVID-19 has put a serious dent in our efforts). To that end we have changed the Marty Brown Memorial Open to multiple 1-day events instead of a single 2-day event. This has allowed us to lower the ticket price as well as reduce the time commitment for folks to attend.
Round #1 will be a rifle-focused event loosely following our Rifle 125 (Basic Rifle) format of instruction. Round #2 (event details to be announced shortly) will be a pistol-focused event likely to be held in mid-August at a range near Greencastle, IN. Sign-up for our email newsletter to keep up to date on upcoming events in Indiana (sign-up form is in the footer of the Revere's Riders website).
We have again received substantial donations of items for our silent auction, skills contest and give-aways. Some highlights include:
You could easily walk away with items worth substantially more than the price of your ticket. You can find the full list of items on the 2020 Marty Brown Memorial Open Round #1 Swag Bags, Give Aways, Prizes, Auctions page of the Revere's Riders website.
