Have to go with M1A, have a Socom 16 removed it from the Camo glass stock and it now sits in a near mint TRW walnut stock, nothing beats steel and wood unless it’s my Rhodesian clone FAL.

I have both and I love both. I have 2 M1A'a and 3 AR-10's. I have been lucky in that I never had any trouble with either.
I used to shoot matches back in the 80's and 90's with a NM M1A and built my first AR-10 around 2015. All my AR-10's are heavy barrels and shoot fantastic. You can build an AR-10 for less than 1/2 the cost of an M1A that will outshoot the M1A. So I guess if I could only have one it would be the AR-10.

Never owned an AR10 but I’d like one. My M14 just sits in the safe most of the time. I built it with GI parts on a Fulton barreled receiver.

Carried this original 63 Winchester on duty as a Sheriff’s Deputy. What a beauty and shot well.
