    Thanks for everyone's reply!

To follow up on a couple questions, he is left eye dominate also. This will be a western mountain gun, so I think we are going to look at Tikka T3X's, Savage 110's, Browninf X-Bolts and ummm urrrr...Christensen Arms. lol.

He's a great kid, it's a lifetime rifle, I may pop for the CA Ridgeline.

I'm left handed with a safe full of left handed rifles and shotguns. I've never owned or carried a wrong-handed weapon.

Why should your son have to compromise every time he picks up a rifle for the rest of his life? Get him a gun that fits him.

Well, the spoiled brat is getting a beautiful 1981 Remington 700LH in .270 with a vintage gloss Leupold Vari-XIIc for his 15th birthday. If he likes the lefty action a more modern rifle in 7mm PRC will follow. Yesterday he shot one of my vintage right hand 700's and it was super awkward for him. I look forward to seeing him smooth out with a lefty gun.

    For future lefty reference.

Finding them in stock might be a challenge though.

Good on you! It's also in a classic western caliber. Jack O'Conner is smiling big right now.

Update. His vintage 1981 R700LH in .270 is all put together and sighted in with the vintage Leupold. I think I'm going to update the Leupold after this season, but he's really enjoying the rifle. I'm sure it will draw first blood in November, either here or in Montana.

This is from youth season last weekend. He passed up several small bucks and an 8 point.
