Right?? "Leftover bacon"... said no one, ever.

I disagree... This one will probably get me the doghouse too, but hear me out.

I have routinely made wayyyyy too much bacon for the express purpose of freezing it cooked. When it's time to use it, while frozen simply place it on an item (an item including your mouth) and it will still be crunchy. The perceived temperature difference is negligible, especially on a sandwich or salad. 90% as good as fresh and about 6x better than refrigerated bacon.

I think my personal record in one cooking session was something like 7lbs, thick sliced. I did it on a giant electric griddle with a grease trap. I believe that surplus supply made it for about 2 weeks with careful rationing.

Okay, as with the fried chicken and gravy situation, this is acceptable. I don't think that I could even eat 7 lbs. at one sitting. 2? 3 max. :):

My wife freezes cooked bacon. I don’t really like bacon so I have no idea how it is, but she said it’s just as good. She’s also froze chili before, and when I heated it up I thought it was horrible... but it might’ve just been mind over matter, since I was kinda expecting it to be disgusting

It's very close to as good...

I routinely freeze my chili as well, but a good bowl of chili should be equal parts: chili, sharp cheddar cheese, and sour cream + fritos + fresh onions. A slight degradation in one ingredient does not ruin the other 2.

That said, my chili freezes awesome. My parent's chili freezes like garbage. It could be that theirs is basically tomato soup with beans and mine is actually chili.

    Also, ban Hatin.
