Deep in my heart I do believe that there are major human capabilities and potential that fail to be understood by the modern western culture. Our deeply engrained assumptions over time become the basis for logic and result in the improper application of the scientific process. Thought I'd check in and say thank you for all of the kind words. They are very much appreciated. I am as well as I have ever been and very thankful for friends who showed me the way out of a place so dark I'd almost forgotten what light was like.

The medicines were Ibogaine and 5-MeO-DMT and they not only changed my life, they saved my life. I am a firmer believer today in these (and other) plant medicines than I have ever been. There is an extremely nefarious reason behind the criminalization and demonization of these medicines. If anyone finds themselves in Mexico, Canada, Peru or a handful of other countries where their value is recognized I highly recommend taking a journey.

If you (or someone you love) are suffering from severe depression, anxiety or PTSD, drug or alcohol addiction I strongly urge you to look in to these medicines and the miraculous healing they are providing to hundreds of our veterans. Absolutely life changing and utterly transformational, do not waste another day.

p.s. - I am no fan of our current federal government and the V.A. especially but they are involved in testing of these and other medicines to treat our veterans and I think they deserve some credit for it.

Phylodog, want to pass on that I'm praying for you and have also been down a dark path in my past. Five years of counseling got me through the other side.
That was many years ago. Still, there are times when I take a break from INGO and other media because the noise is just too depressing.

Good for you Phylodog. The first step, and definitely the hardest, is admitting that you need help. You have passed that hurdle, and now its time to get to work. Modern medicine does a really good job at placing bandaids on gaping wounds. Nothing wrong with looking for alternatives when they work for you. I will be praying for you, as well as those around you. Get well brother, and we will hopefully see you on the other side.

It is my sincerest hope that these treatment methods become mainstream in my lifetime. The amount of good they can do for depression / PTSD is amazing in my amateur opinion.
