Ok here ya go. The "nut" has 2 bosses on the side that locate in the smaller "holes" a screw goes thru the movable jaw, and engages the nut. Being the nut has cylinder bosses, and the bore for the screw is over sized, coupled with the concave radius in the jaw and corresponding convex radius on the screw boss, allow the nut and screw to swing and lock the jaw up on the work.Anyway you can get a picture of the interior that shows how the system locks up?
