There are multiple issues feeding into the high premiums on ASEs now and recently. Eagle premiums have gotten out of hand and well over what is justified by their status. I pulled the prices below from Monument. I would say these are the five most popular sovereign modern coins. To me it is not worth an additional 17% to 20% for Eagles. Heck, the Philharmonics are only a dollar more than the cheapest generic round!
