That's a pretty good point there.

Now that there are more law abiding citizens than ever purchasing and keeping all kinds of firearms, the communists may be too late to try it - but their stupidity never surprises me.

First heavy restrictions then possible confiscation but Obama's been too busy yet for that. After healthcare plays out then immigration is up. That's what I think.

If he doesn't do it in this term, God help us. On the positive side, he would then do it without Lugar, whose term is up in 2012, and who, IIRC, said he would not be running again.

Then again, Lugar also says he's a Republican, and we all know that he has no interest in the Republic at all.

You can tell a politician is lying very easily: Their lips are moving and sound is coming out.

    Blessings,
    Bill

Just look at how things are in todays society. Did anyone think we would have zero manufacturing in this country with jobs going to Mexico and China? Did anyone think we would be overun with Illegals getting our tax money for child care, medical? Did anyone ever think we would allow the type of elected represenatives in DC that we have?

Did anyone ever think we would have websites like Ashley madison promoting affairs, a society where people like Kim Kardashian can get rich and have a show based off a sex tape?

Take a look at town hall meetings over health care. Barney Frank can tell people they are as interesting as a table or on Bill O'reilly his boyfriend will come out and take care of Bill if he doesn't straighten up.

The fact of the matter is for some time I have been hearing that the silent majority will wake up one day and take back our country. Put people like Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank and others who want to have an anything goes society in their place.

I kinda wonder if that silent majority is not what we thought and if we are in the minority these days. I talk to co-workers, friends and I am surprised at how attitudes have changed. It seems like most people these days are conditioned to go with the flow...don't rock the boat.

I think most on here are correct. Guns isnt an issue for them right now and they know it. I think they will wait until the second term. Once they are in I think they will implement as much as they can to get their ideals in palce as they know it will be awhile before they are back in.

I am not an expert on history but I have a gut feeling. That feeling says technology has in a sense removed the TOUGH from most of us. People don't grow up playing outside learning how to shoot bb guns, .22, playing war, camping. Kids hop on computers by age 5, never go outside. Are more worried about Yugi Ogi cards. They grow up worried about what can I do for myself to have the coolest car, biggest house.

They are conditioned to be afraid of guns, to speak up and be heard when the government wants to take our rights. I just think we haven't become conditioned enough just yet and thats scary.

The title of the OP is misleading. You see, I don't have a President right now. There's a guy occupying the Office of the President and living in the residence of the President, but I don't recognize this unqualified socialist/communist as having earned the title of respect that accompanies that position.

However, to answer the question of whether or not the Kenyan will make the attempt to take our guns... yes, I do believe he will have his minions try to do so. I do not look forward to the day that his initiative to do so begins, because I do not think that it will be a pleasant circumstance at all.

I think a whole lot of good people are going to die in the process-some because they own guns and some because they agree to give them up, but in all cases, I think it will be by criminal action that those people's lives end.

It's just that some of the criminals currently hold public office.

    Blessings,
    Bill

I Believe they are simply waiting for the right "emergency" to implement a new AWB type ban.

I travel quite a lot for work in the NE and South Central parts of the country and hear a LOT of people so very frustrated with the govt that if they came out with some type of confiscation it would result in a civil war. People are angry, frustrated, and are to the point they won't be pushed much further. I hope and pray it won't come to that but I cannot believe a lot of what has been happening from Washington the past 9-12 months either.

People can talk s**t about how their fed up and "ain't gonna take it no more" but when the time to stop talking and take action comes.... they get real quiet and disappear.

Maybe I'm pessimistic but I don't think there are many people left in this country that are the Patriotic equals to our forefathers. Few people have the stones to walk away from everything they know and own to put up a real fight especially if it means bleeding or possibly dieing. And look at our so called leaders now... that's what voting got us.

Take our guns? Didn't I read somewhere that Barack Obama was a supporter of the second admendment and hunter's rights? All his party has advocated is "common sense" gun laws to keep the population safe.

Seriously though, I think Obama has enough on his plate currently and he will not try another bold and contraversial political move until after his re-election in 2012. I don't think he anticipated the negativity that has resulted from the health care debate. Yes, I do think he will get elected for a second term. He has a silver tongue that one.

I think that when the SHTF like the dollar crashing or maybe the H1N1 then they will flood all the bad laws through that are sitting around like HR45, Healthcare, Cape N Trade, The Sea Treaty and all kinds of really bad legislation through the dark of night while the nation is in peril.

I'm sorry, but America isn't England or Austrailia. There's NO WAY they will outright ban guns. They know we would fight them to the end. No, they will try by passing more and more laws making it harder to buy or own guns. The question then becomes when and where do we draw the line? I would like to think the line has been drawn here and now, but I'm sure many people here wouldn't be up in arms over another bill like HR45. I just don't see people revolting over something like that.

Fudds would have gone along with HR45. Many "law abiding citizens" would, too. But, a large segment of the gun owning populace would just refuse to go along with it and would ignore it. What sane cop is going to enforce it?

I kinda agree. I think they could continue to manipulate and control the population with more 'financial crisis' and media influenced 'frenzy'. They could continue that rope until all of America is BEGGING for 'help' and 'change'.

Maybe I'm naive , but I can't see them ever actually trying confiscation .

Another goofy ban on weapons or laws restricting reloading components sure but not outright confiscation .

Plus, they already control most of the finance chains, food chains and now vehicle chains... would be state controlled communists very soon. Standing in line for bread and beatings..

What if an emergency happened that they take over gun manufacturers to produce the quantity of weapons and ammo for our military? Yeah, sounds crazy and unrealistic but, look what has happened lately.:dunno:

You are a thinker, very good. Thinking outside the box. That sounds VERY realistic and would be 'buyable' by the citizens. Control would not relinquished upon the 'need' taken care of; I can see your point. :yesway:
