    This is classic and SO true! I've wondered the same ?'s...thanks for bringing this up OP! I like the things people utilize for tri-pods or stands (ie: 1980 pencils etc.)

    I do pics of long guns on my bed, I have been married 7 years so my sheets stay pretty clean;), I like to take my pics from above, so my toe hiding tactic is to stand on the edge of the box spring with my feet under the actual matress. Pics of smaller items like handguns and such, I take on my kitchen counter and they come out pretty good.
