Heard about this on the radio The other day.
They took a strip mall to court because they only allowed sandwich shops to be there.
    Tacos are mexican sandwiches...supposedly

It's always annoyed me when I hear someone call a hamburger a "hamburger sandwich".
    But whats a hot dog?
Hamburger is just a category of sandwich. Sandwich is the Family, hamburger is the genus, cheeseburger is the specie. A sandwich is a main course between two pieces of bread or a split roll.

Is it just me, or is this a zoning and covenants thing more than a judicial ruling that made tacos sandwiches? Judge Bobay makes a reasoned and well thought out decision based on type of restaurant and the world goes bat-crap over tacos=sandwiches.

Allen County: known for two Judges.

I was told that ground meat sandwiches were first made popular in Hamburg, Germany, thus Hamburg'er. I never bothered to do any research.

My thought exactly. Who cares if a taco is a sandwich or what possible legal precedent gets set here (spoiler alert: none).

The key takeaway is that the ruling stuck it to some up-jumped municipal bureaucrat(s) in favor of a small business owner.
