Its not my favorite thing but i dont hate it. Made some decent money doing it while i was between jobs. Open rooms arent bad, bathrooms and kitchens suck though
I wish this was done when we moved in but my timeline didn't go nearly as planned.

Got the time now to do it but have to work with all the furniture and stuff... I just got the hardest wall done so I have that going for me.

I painted the ceiling of the media room in the basement on Saturday.

I too hate painting. Among my most hated painting jobs is bead board. Thick roller to get in the grooves, but not too thick. Enough paint, but no too much or it will get gloppy and cause drips.

Guess what some genius decided to put on the ceiling in the media room a couple of weeks ago.

^^^This.^^^ I recently painted our bathroom. It's not very big. Maybe 7'x10' at the most, but I'd venture to say that I could probably paint our entire living room, dining room and hallway in about the same amount of time that it took to paint the bathroom.

Last bathroom i did took me almost 5 hours in prep alone. Painting is easy and goes quick, its the prep and reassembling that sucks.

I stained the cabinets yesterday, hung a new front door sunday. Plans are to change out our air conditioner tmrw... got to keep my self going.

I'd paint the border wall with a small brush if someone would come paint my baseboards. Every time I think about getting started, I look at all of it and realize $4500 might be a bargain.

I've painted every wall in every house I've ever owned... most multiple times.

Painting ceilings? Nope... if it's time to paint the ceiling, it's time for a new house. :)

Now I can add, trenching for a new driveway post lamp and piping 50 ft. And terrible shooting a bunch of stuff in the basement.... this thread was bad luck.

I hate painting too. I'm probably the world's 2nd worst painter (only because someone with a vision impairment has me beat).

When we finished our basement, my wife (who is good at painting) told me it was too big a project for her, so either we pay to have it done or I do it. :spend:
