Hunter Biden is really exposing the extent to which the federal government will absolutely bend over backwards to protect its own privileged children. FBI shredding his kiddie porn jacktop, Secret Service grabbing paperwork from FFLs to hide his felonious gun purchase, how many extraordinary interventions is this little **** going to get solely because his daddy is connected?

How many? No limit for the privileged class, for the common man it is zero.

Yes, but he can't be prosecuted. It was ruled unconstitutional as a 5A violation back when I was still loading diapers.
    I don't think that's right.

Requiring felons to "register" firearms they are illegally possessing is a 5A violation IIRC.

But, I don't think that self-reporting of being an improper person is a 5A violation. In fact, people have been prosecuted for the "lie and try" strategy to form-filling.

I guess we'll see if that's true or not based on Hunter going to jail or not.

Well, the validity (or not) of the 5A isn't determined by a single prosecution.

For one thing, that question about drug addiction has been problematic for a long time. It isn't illegal to be a drug addict (so the 5A isn't really implicated), but it does make you an improper person. But what about a recovering drug addict? A PTSD-suffering veteran who was an opioid addict for awhile, but has been clean for years - what does that guy answer?

Like the article says, prosecutions for that particular response in that particular scenario are rare.

Yep, nothing to see here. Move along.

Sure it is, either we have laws in this country or we don't and therefor no longer need to comply with them.
We do have laws in this country. Politicians on both sides of the isle try to get around them to get their own priorities done. Sometimes they don't get away with it. Too often they do. So are you going to pick and choose which laws you're going to ignore? What about the consequences? Whether a law is constitutional or even just, or not, breaking laws has consequences. If you're gonna ignore them I hope there's more support for it than just you. If it's millions of people, there's some political power in that. If it's just you, Democrats can Ruby Ridge you anytime they want.

I don't mean to be morbid, but none of us get off this rock alive in the end anyway. This society of non-stop fear is what has lead us to this point.
