The only thing I feel after leaving the range is that I wish I had more money to by A LOT more ammo to go back in and shoot all day.

Every time I see a golf course, I think to myself, "build a backstop and that would make a nice shooting range". When I finish shooting, I feel relaxed, focused and satisfied. Only health issue is when my back and neck hurts from shooting prone. Lots of dry firing is fixing that.

Left bicep sore from the sling, cyst on leg sore from the prone, elbows bleeding from the gravel. . .

Smile on my face for days. . .

My wife loves it when I go shooting, says it puts me in a good mood for a week.

I'm usually feeling pretty relaxed, and a bit tired. A couple of hours at the range is almost like work!

    That, and cold lately.

BTW: Am I the only one that keeps wet-wipes in my range bag? I hate all the powder residue on my hands afterward.

Shooting is a completely underrated activity in terms of stress release. As long as the gun is working well and the ammo isn't disappearing too fast, how could you not feel relaxed after wards!
    hmm...
    Thomas Jefferson said:
...As to the species of exercise, I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body, and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun, therefore, be the constant companion of your walks."

As for how I feel, usually sore and tired. I really can't think of a better feeling.

As bizarre as it may sound, I am crazy thirsty after a shooting session. I cannot figure out what the hell it is. Doesn't matter if it's indoors or outdoors and whether I'm well hydrated before or not. I've tried to pin it down but it happens every damn time. I never really sweat or anything so it's not like I'm tensing up so bad that my muscles are generating heat like exercise. Whatever though, just bring a bottle water with me every time and drink the whole thing when I'm done, invariably with a hell of a grin.
