    Another right thinking person who escaped for Illinois 6 years ago. I was south of the Mason/Dixon line (I-80) though.

    Welcome!
    Yeah, the folks and towns south of I-80 are far more sensible and down to earth than where I live. Unfortunately, that tiny sliver in the northeast corner of the state runs and ruins the state for everyone.

    That's one thing that drives me crazy - people from California, Illinois or New York moving to free states and then voting for the exact same garbage that made them flee their original homes to begin with!
    @crookcountygo

    Glad to see you understand the irony of some that move to freedom, only to vote to destroy it.

    Welcome from Boone county!

    I think you will find Indiana gun law a little more sane than Illinois. Post Constitutional Carry our Attorney General and our favorite 2nd amendment focused attorney put together this: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...QQFnoECAMQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2W6RxF_iagT2MqmpgV28_n

    Also, peruse this site to apply for your lifetime permit: https://www.in.gov/isp/firearms-licensing/

    Thank you for this! It answered a question I had, which was "why would I want to get a lifetime carry permit if Indiana now has Constitutional Carry?" Much appreciated.

    That's a good resource. But the short answer is "reciprocity".

    Also, IMO if you do not have a license, I would be concerned about 18 USC Sec 922 if driving down the road near a school. That federal law disallows possession of a firearm on public property within 1000 ft of a school, but exempts those who hold a license.

    If you might travel out of state, you should consider getting a license. Some states require that you have a license from your home state, even if your home state is constitutional carry. Fro example, Michigan recognizes residential licenses from all other states. Those people can carry in Michigan, but residents of Vermont, which does not issue CCLs, cannot carry legally in Michigan. That may be the situation in other states.
