When I got two gun safes and started carrying them from closets and behind doors there were some interesting observations...

How do you guys have wives that don't know when you get a new gun? My wife sees the finances. She'd know if $500 or more was missing.

I don't care or ask her about shoe or coat inventory.

She doesn't ask or care about firearm inventory.

The other day my wife asked if I had considered selling a shot gun that I had.... Told her I sold it over a year ago....

She does not care what I buy as long as we have the $$$.

my wife is not worried about our guns. that's right, I said our guns. I guess I do have a couple that are mine though. theres been more times than 1, that she has been the one to talk me into getting it. not that I didn't want to, just thought maybe we should wait and think about it. most times she was right, I love my wife, shes the best.

I've only ever had the one gun. I AM workin on hunting the second wife tho.

I always pay cash from my hard-earned 'extra' money. That said, at first, my wife was against me getting any firearm. About ten years ago, I picked up a Rem 552 for a good price, put it in a nice, locking case and put it in the closet. It sat there peacefully for a few weeks until one day she calls me at work:

Her: What's this gun doing in my closet?
Me: What - did it break out and start shooting all by itself...?
Her: -laughing- uh... no. We're talking about this when you get home.

We never did have that discussion...

Over the years, that .22 has multiplied to several firearms, now stored in a nice safe, with the wife and I having an understanding... more a "don't ask, don't tell" about prices.

bought 2 in one day once with the intention of not telling about the 2nd. later that day, my son said, mom - do you like the new gun? she said yes, the m&p is nice. he said - and what about the beretta?...
he got his butt chewed.

Every other gun I buy is for my wife. She now has 7. She has only shot 1; her carry gun.

This is the one always use also. I think that she has more guns than I do.

I barely got out the door with my Sub 2000 on my way to the downtown 2A rally today. She would have asked "what's in the case?" had she known what Kel-Tec makes, since it's embroidered on the side. Whew!

I usually dont get harassed too much about buying new guns...until the last time when she was looking over my shoulder while i was pricing some 1911's online. Now shes on high alert!

Her:"I thought you'd be home by now."

Me:"Possibly."

Me:"What? The bills are paid."

I will admit she is getting better, now she asks me how much I need for reloading.
