I don't think this is a dupe as far as the INGO Forum but it happened in Indy 30 years ago.

At the time, I was a wearer of high top basketball shoes almost all the time. Absolutely believe a .32 could be hidden in a shoe.

As I understand it, that incident is still used in teaching proper search techniques in Indy/Marion County. Probably elsewhere, too.

Re-reading that article from 1987 reminds me how far Indy has come. There is no "end" to the journey, but things are remarkably different.
