But they can evacuate. Israel doesn't intend to wage an urban ground war with 2 million people....I don't think Israel is intending a trucks and gas chambers genocide in Gaza, but unfortunately the reality of that overpopulated and enclosed space is that vast numbers of people will die in a full scale ground campaign. It's Fallujah, with 3 million people who can't evacuate first. I honestly question the IDF's ability to wage such a fight. 10% of Gazans taking up arms is 300,000 fighters.
Their game plan is to squeeze the place hard, while leaving the exit door to Egypt open. They bomb just hard enough to keep the cattle moving, while hurting the least number of innocents practicable. Hopefully everybody just leaves, and you simply don't let anyone back in, or make it very hard to do so.
If the result of the coming campaign is that Egypt ends up with 1.5 million "Palestinians" on their hands...problem solved. Once you get a good portion of the innocents out of the way, the remaining problems are easier to deal with.
