I have open gutters. Trees everywhere. Leaf blower with the gutter cleaning kit is the answer I choose. 2 maybe 3times a year I spend 1/2 hour blowing them out. Once a year pull the downspouts to check for garbage in them. One of the magical gutter systems quoted me $3200 for my 36' long home. 108 ft of gutter. I told them for that I could hire a high schooler with a ladder twice a yr until I died.
    Yeah, not doing that much!

As seen in Post #13, that hasn't at all been our experience in over 8 years living here.
    We love 'em.
    YMMV
    Yes I saw it.

Here are some photos of mine. The water would just run over the screen and leave the junk there. The mesh is so small it got plugged up easy.

Also the debris would stay up there and rot.

Very similar to my experience. Now mix in cherry blossoms to rot up there too, then cherries, then later the stems fell, leaves were the least of my worries. That is why we clean three times a year.

Last year the gutter cleaning company talked me into putting these plastic L shaped pieces in where the gutter connects to the downspout. The junk still collects but but the water still drains out. Better than most things I have tried, they cost about $150 for mine at $40 per so not expensive..

    I'm sorry to hear this.
Our house has trees with the same "helicopters" that fall on the roof, and they don't get stuck like this.
And the water doesn't run off.
I do notice that ours is of a little different design than yours.
Our screens are finer and the underneath part is different.
