Apologies if I put this in the wrong place... If I should post it elsewhere, do say so.

Anyone have a recommendation for a gunsmith in the Muncie area? I've got a rifle and a pistol that need a bit of work. Nothing major, but beyond my meager skills.

While I appreciate any and all input, I'm partial to first hand experience. "My co-worker's brother's cousin hunts with a guy who says..." doesn't carry as much weight as "I took my smoke-wagon to Joe for some work on the trigger, and it shoots like a dream now."

    Thanks.

I know a couple of guys who do basic stuff, but I don't know if they do it commercially.

What are you looking to have done?

Funniest thing I've heard in awhile haha!

Some light rust removal (more humid here than in Colorado), bore sight on the .270, and a general cleaning.

If you want to bring them down to the east side of indy i can take care of all of that for you. I am letting my FFL expire in december so it must be before then.

I could use a few more things to make a few gunsmithing threads out of before i am out of the biz

I'm moving to New Castle in early October to go back to school in Muncie. I'm no gunsmith but I've been a Marine Corps armorer for the past 5 years and would be happy to help you out. I don't know any gunsmiths in the area... but you don't really need one to remove rust, clean, or boresight...

Bob: First, thanks for your service. Big respect. I'll keep your offer in mind. I've got a hog hunt in Texas slated for mid-November, so want to get it done before then... not sure how your schedule will be shaping up, and I certainly won't intrude on your school time. Let's chat again when you move.

IndyGunworks: Thanks for the offer. Shoot me a message, as I can't send you one yet (post count not high enough.) Might not be for a week or so... Might be able to swing them by on my way to the airport on a Sunday, if that would work for you. Hate to intrude on your weekend.

    Thanks,
