Private ranges can be over rated. Everyone wants to use yours, but when it comes time to run a brush hog so you can get there, there are no potential range uses in sight …. Let me know when all the upkeep is done so I can come by.Needing a “reason” for a particular gun or accessory. I don’t have to justify crap to any politician, and I shouldn’t have to justify it to fellow enthusiasts.
Sometimes I want what I want and I have what I have.
Also, stop pretending your better than anyone because your way is better than xyz. We get it you’re tacticool or old school. Wood and steel vs fantastic plastic. Get over yourselves. Love what you love and get on with it.
Also, I need a private range.
The "Little Red Hen" syndrome...Private ranges can be over rated. Everyone wants to use yours, but when it comes time to run a brush hog so you can get there, there are no potential range uses in sight …. Let me know when all the upkeep is done so I can come by.
I’m looking for property hopefully next year, strictly as recreational property. I don’t care if anyone wants to use it, I want it for me.Private ranges can be over rated. Excellent point. You want what you want, have what you have.Needing a “reason” for a particular gun or accessory. I don’t have to justify crap to any politician, and I shouldn’t have to justify it to fellow enthusiasts.

Indeed seclusion has its benefits. We have a 100 foot rock berm behind our range about 75 feet behind it goes a long way to mitigate liability.I’m looking for property hopefully next year, strictly as recreational property. I don’t care if anyone wants to use it, I want it for me.
I could see myself letting people make use of it if I trust them and liability issues get sorted. But I agree, I’m not maintaining it for other people.
On the other hand, I would be willing to help maintain a property if someone was willing to share. Heck, I actually enjoy the work.
Flashlight extending past the end of the gun is good to have if you run the muzzle into a hard object such as a wall or into the sternum of somebody (if you find yourself needing space), it reduces the chances of knocking your pistol out of battery. Not a discussion thread…more of a venting thread. Lol.
When I see these things, it drives me nuts…well, more nuts.
Flashlights that extend past the barrel.
Rear iron sight in front of an optic.
You?
What's even worse is when they come out with a new gun that you want. And you actually have the money....but.. There Unobtainium. You can find one on GunJoker but its double MSRP. As far as just being able to go to the LGS and pick one up....Maybe in a yearIt makes me mad when they come out with a new gun, that I would like to have, and I ain’t got no money…
Ok, maybe that is a me problem……..
Holsters with pineapple.
If I were building a "duty" gun, yeah, utilitarian is probably the way to go but if I'm building a personal firearm, aesthetics is absolutely part of the big picture. Function is the priority in either case. Aesthetics is the icing on the cake to me.To each their own, but i hate it when people make ornamental changes to defensive firearms.
Get a scrap book, get a bedazzler and a jean jacket.
Color fill, decals, novelty mag plates, etc..... if it does not make your firearm more effective, then what the hell?
A defensive firearm has a serious purpose.
That kind of nonsense certainly diminishes my entertainment experience.Actors in movies and TV shows running around blasting bad guys / zombies with ARs that have a fixed front sight base...
but no rear sight.
