Never handled one and was playing with a 22 today, felt good thinking about buying it, one question though is when racking the slide is it normal to hear the spring coil, almost squeak. i am used to shooting a kimber 1911 and a s&w 99. Any info is appreciated.
My 19 was a tad squeaky till I put about 300 rounds through it. Also, I noticed when you have the slide locked open, and you slap a loaded mag in, the slide will snap forward and chamber a round. I called Glock and they said about 80% of them do that and its not a big deal.
My roommate and I just bought glock 22's about a month ago now and they both had a squeak in the slide spring. We just put a little CLP on them, and now it is no more. I suppose if I was more patient and put more rounds through it, it would have stopped, but it was getting annoying when we were dry firing/practicing in the apartment.
Just bought a Glock 23 last week and it had the squeak. As soon as I oiled it properly as the owners manual states to do when brand new, the squeak went away.
