You're right... why on earth would I take it off my hip and toss it in a bag? I soooo do not advocate carrying in a bag.you know deep down inside that you will not be tossing that 1911 in your go-bag.
You are a pot-stirrer, you are.
*gasp*Even if I had a 1911, I would never shoot it, or carry it. The only thing I can think of that I would do with a 1911 is try to get rid of it. Maybe trade it for a real gun...
I'm glad I didn't eat breakfast before seeing this. That's enough to make you toss your salad.

...and in related news; ignorance is bliss.
I can't choose just one. It may be blasphemy to do so but I can't do it.
A 1911 is like the prom queen. (Sophisticated, higher maintenence, gorgeous, almost everyone likes her.)
A Glock is like a hot Emo chick. (Crude, dark, unsophisticated, but she has a hard time getting everyone to accept her.)
The household refrigerator was invented in 1913. Are you 1911 guys sure that isn't too newfangled for your tastes?

Great analogy. Both still work, both have had modifications since then as well. An both are a great American invention. Course, when is the Glock of refrigerators coming out?

They are out. I have an LG which is spectacular. If you were using a fridge from 1913 you'd still be filling it with ice all the time...sorta like how you always have to refill a 1911.
They have double stack Para Ordinance 1911s. Those hold 14 rounds. So, there are variants out there too. Just pointing out.
Yep, but none of them work, because they weren't designed that way.
Seen the Texas Rangers get those issued. Pretty sure they are kinda rough on their pistols. I'd say that I could be mistaken, but I did ask the ones that I was working with at the time what they carried, since I was carrying the M11 at the time. They stated it was the Para, carried 14 in the mag, and that they worked great.
Sorry fella, but the issued sidearm for the Texas DPS, including the Rangers, is the Sig 226 in .357 Sig. A modern, high capacity firearm.
