    Curious as to how........

    I guess I over tightened it. Hard to believe since it was going on a polymer rifle (M&P15/22). It was a gen 1, and had a slotted screw (instead of allen) and there was no shoulder where it went it. The rifle was leaned in the corner of the house, got knocked over, and I found it split on one side where it meets the rail. Magpul said it was one of the earlier ones they had made, and have since corrected the problem. They sent a replacement :yesway:, but I sold it and now stick solely with non polymer sights. I have a tendency to be rough on my gear, so I stick with the beefy stuff.
