I ended up picking up a Gen 1 Sheild 9mm today that has an APEX Flat-Faced Trigger on it...I ordered the Apex polymer flat faced Forward Set trigger for my M&P. It'll be interesting to see how I like it. I'll report back once I have had a chance to use it.
The factory trigger on my M&P is an average of 4 lbs, 6 oz. It will be interesting to see where the Apex trigger shakes out.I really don't have any preference between the two. I just want a nice trigger no more than 5lb on pistols and 4lbs is what I like. On rifles 4lbs down to 2.5lbs.
If a trigger is much higher it affects accuracy IMO.
Sounds like a hair trigger at 12oz.The factory trigger on my M&P is an average of lbs, 12 oz. It will be interesting to see where the Apex trigger shakes out.
Agree with this. In rifles I’m not as big as a fan of the flat triggers and really do like the “hybrid” style curved/flat like the CMC CCT.I really don't have any preference between the two. Yeah, it's really light...on paper. But when you add the pounds part, not so much. I corrected it and even took another average before I swapped the triggers.Sounds like a hair trigger at 12oz.
My Ronin is at 4lbs and it feels perfect to me.
My Shield 45 is 5 1/4 lbs it's on the heavy side but workable.
My CZ P10F is 4lbs as well.

I have an Agency arms flat face on my G34 and like it a lot, totally opposite to you I like the Ghost connector without the wall. I seen to do really well this this set up.Question: Does anyone else prefer flat-faced triggers and, if so, what brand or manufacturer do you prefer and why?
I've tried the 3.5# Ghost Trigger and didn't like that it didn't have a felt 'break-point' on it before it fired! Just wasn't comfortable for me from a safety viewpoint!
Ha...interestingly, I'm actually a DAO trigger revolver fan...and still train with them occasionally!Had a Sig 320 X5 Legion and the Flat Trigger was pretty good. Have shot a couple Sig 365 CL’s same.
However I’m not a fan of aftermarket flat or any triggers. In 39 some years of running guns and seeing a lot of folks shooting about everything the Glocks and Strikers that choke are aftermarket triggers and parts. So I’ll pass but that’s just me.
(Of course cutting my teeth with DA Revolvers back in the day not sure what’s bad about a 5 pound Glock or M&P trigger but I’m weird like that LOL)
I would recommend just shooting it. I have had M&Ps from 2007 when they first came out to 2 2.0’s and the triggers aren’t bad. What trigger would you all recommend for a Shield 45 1.0? I'd like to get it around 4lb.
Can a gunsmith work with the original trigger to accomplish that?
