Thanks for the replies. Its cool to know that it may have seen actual war time. The stock is in pretty nice shape though, would that mean that it may have not seen war time, or maybe it was redone before being sent over?
Being a 1942 you can be assured that it saw action. Looking at your pic the stock was replaced during the refurb process.
That is awesome to know. The rifle has a whole new meaning to me knowing that someone may have carried it in war. If it could only speak..
Rubber but plates are for nazis lol But I would never do that to my 1925My M44 doesn't kick huge but after 20-25 rounds I get the same SN as the steel butt plate on my shoulder.
Your right it's not bad but grab one of the rubber butts and save you the worry down the road.
When the zombies come ill lend you a crate of mine with 1000 rounds lol but thats how cheap they areI have a feeling I'm going to regret having only one Mosin someday.
get a hex that was my firstI love the mosin, will be getting my first in the near future.
I agree the Hex models are a little nicer since most weren't made during war time. The fit and finnish is nicer. But they all go Boom when you pull the trigger.get a hex that was my first
