How's the supply chain on Stihl saws these days, yetti?Hauled in hickory yesterday. Skidded out some black walnut logs and one nice cherry today. $$$ time
With my luck it'll create just a ton of hang ups and widowmakersThis wind is bringing trees down, going to be a busy spring.

A win!Lucky for me two of those that would have been problems near the house are now on the ground.
I’m checking tomorrow on one that’s hanging. It’s 3 trees laying on each other and no safe way to cut one to not have one of them chase you. Figure a come along or the tractor if the wind didn’t do it for me
Stihl is a great saw but if you need to just out a couple branches down look at getting The Milwaukee battery powered chain saws very quick and easy to useStihl 290 for a good all around saw. Not bad on the price. Itll cut alot of firewood ya need. Always good to have a good splitting maul and a axe as well. Make sure ya get get the protective gear. Something i need to do myself
Yes but in this situation I can’t maneuver in where and be safe. 2 of the 3 trees are 20”+ across and 60’ tall and the other is split in half about 20’ up. It’s a mess. I would love to be able to use the tractor and loaderI usually handle those with a long log chain and the tractor.
Sounds like you need to....Yes but in this situation I can’t maneuver in where and be safe. 2 of the 3 trees are 20”+ across and 60’ tall and the other is split in half about 20’ up. It’s a mess. I would love to be able to use the tractor and loader
Not sure if the winch on the ranger will be enough. I or gravity will get it.
Sounds like you need to....
Heading out today to see the results. Cloverdale took the gold with the highest gust Thursday @ 57mph. We have lots of candidates to go from standing dead to on the ground dead. We shall see. This wind is bringing trees down, going to be a busy spring.

Enjoy the day.
Got that hickory split up and it was full of some boring beetle larvae that looked like um...well uh...yeah...you know, the thing.Dropped and cut up a hickory in the yard that died this spring. Not sure what happened to it; had buds but never leafed out. Already partially seasoned, lol. Measured a few pieces with the highest around 30%.
