Because most lowers don't have ambidextrous bolt releasesI just do understand what the point is when you can buy a quality lower and avoid buying a separate part to get in the way and spend more money?
And most parts kits don't come with an ambi mag release, and ambi mag releases cost more than a bad lever.Because most lowers don't have ambidextrous bolt releases

Brain fart. Considering I have 3 of them you would think I would know that. The BAD lever releases the bolt.
I see them as a failure point.
Also if you grab for a random AR and have to use it your going to be searching for a lever that isn't there. Training issue.
To each his own. Free to be.
The bad lever is a bad idea , I've seen 3 accendental discharges due to those things

Cool. Thanks. Anyone else? OP made it sound like I could buy just ANY quality AR and get it.
There's more out there. San tan tactical, ZR tactical, Aero...
They are getting more common. I have two that have an ambi bolt release. Being left handed, I thought it was a great idea, but i never use them. First, I'm used to using the stock location. Second, with a brass catcher, the ambi bolt release isn't accessible.
