OK, what's he supposed to do? We're already enacting sanctions against them for the Ukraine. The treaty doesn't, as far as I know, spell out any penalties for breaking it. What is the Modern Gunner solution? So, what's the lace-panties wearing Liar-In-Chief gonna DO about it?
Same as always: nothing.
Apparently, this miserable inaction is considered 'appropriate' by even some on INGO. That's pretty sad.
If that's the case, then what is all the hub-bub about?i could be mistaken but wasnt the treaty for short range missiles, and they tested a long range?

Obama announces expanded sanctions against Russia as E.U. aligns - The Washington Post
I'm sure Putin is shaking in his boots over this action from the pantywaist in chief.
Putin plays chess. The eunuch in chief plays tiddlywinks.
Straw man.OK, so what is Henry's plan? You've got the podium now. You're in the catbird seat. What does President Henry do? What's your plan?
Not a strawman in the least. Just wanting to know what they should be doing. Lots of people bring this up, but not one has a rational plan. The administration has already engaged in sanctions. Beyond that there's been talk of moving short range missiles into the area by some. It's been a hours since this came into being and people are ****ting bricks over our perceived weakness. Is Obama a hawk? Not even. But he's at least doing something and doing it in a sane fashion. Sanctions are sane and they can always be ratcheted up to hurt Russia even more. It's very clear to everyone who's paying attention that the American public does not want a military solution to this on our part. Obama's, for once, listening to the American people.Straw man.
Henry is pointing out the obvious: weakness is provocative. The bully targets the seemingly weak because he knows they are unlikely to respond and his chances of getting away with it are high. He is far less likely to target the individual that portrays an attitude that says messing with him will hurt. In this case, Russia is very much aware that the U.S. is a weak target. Unfortunately, the analogy falls apart in that unlike the school yard bully, Russia won't actually back down from the fight when finally confronted by his victims. But that doesn't change the fact that one could avoid becoming a victim by not looking like one.
It is a straw man. One can observe and point out the source of the problem without having a solution and still be credible. You are attempting to create the logical fallacy that the observation lacks credibility if someone can't come up with a viable solution. Not a strawman in the least. And sanctions are the international geopolitical equivalent of the parental "Stop, or I'll tell you to stop again."
For a start, he needs a Time Machine to go back about six years and stop bowing and making bright red lines he doesn't mean...Criticizing without providing at least a half way decent ( or any ) alternative does not make one look credible. How should Obama look strong in this situation that wouldnt drag us into the war?
