When I bought my safe, which sits on concrete, the seller suggested that it be put on hockey pucks to keep it off of the floor.
I also had a golden rod, thought it was getting my safe too hot and dry for my guns with wood stocks. I got rid of the golden rod and use these: Drupal | Stop moisture damage before it begins.
Mine also is in an insulated and dry walled garage. Even when we recently had the negative -45 degree wind chill temps recently, my garage stayed at 40 degrees, most winters it stays at 50 and above. But of course the real challenge is summer with the humidity. I bought a little magnetic thermometer/hydrometer and stuck it to the metal shelf rail. So I keep an eye on the humidity.
I have always heard you should keep your humidity level under 50%. I have had my safe for 8 years now and never had an issue. I also keep my guns well oiled.
