Well last night's blank made two years now I've not blasted one with any firearm. Not from lack of opportunity.Still some bow days ahead!
Always wanted to go hunting. 3 back surgeries later thats definitely not going to ever happen. I hear yaShot a nice doe this morning. I'll never shoot another deer while hunting alone again. Thought I was going to die getting her drug out and up into the truck. I'm only 53 but today I felt 90.

Here is my 2020 buck. Just picked him up from Fireside Taxidermy in Greenwood a couple weeks ago. He is my biggest to date and only one I had mounted.
What’d you use to hold the antlers in place? Is it just screws from the back?Made this today from some of my smaller bucks over the years, came out really good.View attachment 172602
Yes. Drilled into the antler, 3 screws, one long one and 2 shorter ones to keep from turning. What’d you use to hold the antlers in place? Is it just screws from the back?
Watch the video, on YouTube, from the guy on GrowingDeerTv. He simplifies breaking down a deer pretty well. If I can get one hung up at home within an hour or two of the kill, I don't even field-dress them.Picked up my doe from the butcher yesterday. Gotta learn how to do it myself. I can , it just takes forever.
