The British have no grounds to question our Independence. They renounced and relinquished all such claims in the Treaty of Paris (1783).

Next time you hear some nimrod progressive claim those signing the Declaration of Independence were just a bunch of rich, white, land owners who were trying to get more land, remind them that they were the ones risking everything they had to found our republic.

Had it failed, they would have been the first ones hanging from a rope.... or worse.
Can you cite a reference to where anyone, progressive or otherwise, referred to the signers as "a bunch of rich, white, land owners?" I've never heard such a comment. Wouldn't like it either.

"We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately."
    - Benjamin Franklin upon signing the Declaration.

Not to me. To the produce of socialist law schools - yes.

Forgive me, didn't mean to even insinuate that you might think in that manner.

I had thought that they at least might look over the founding principles first, if only to point out "how far we have come"

your don't listen to progressive rationale and comments much do you? That's a typical left-wing statist response when they're challenged on everything the Federal Government does being unconstitutional. Trash the men who wrote the constitution, therefore questioning the legitimacy of the constitution.

It's a short article but a few of you might find this interesting or disturbing.

    Here's the link.

Declaration Of Independence Was 'Illegal,' Grounds For Treason, British Lawyers Say | Fox News

With all the insanity going on here in the USA and around the globe, I find it very odd that ANYONE would challenge The Declaration of Independence. Perhaps it was just an "exercise" but it just didn't set right with me. I heard a blip about this on the airwaves and just wanted to pull over and talk to the cows in the farmers field. They make more sense.

No one and I mean NO ONE challenges The Declaration of Independence. :patriot:

Here's a quote from the article; "At the end of the debate, which took place just a few blocks away from where Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration, a vote was held and American independence was reaffirmed." Duh !!!!

Someone needs to remind the Brits that this topic is OFF LIMITS !

We kicked their ass once and if it wasn't for the US, their good 'ol neighbor Adolph would have flattened their little island and made it into weekend resort for his Storm Troopers. No silly, not from Star Wars.

    ROFL...the British are sore losers......

Those Brits are quick...235 years later they realize that it was treason....isn't treason illegal in itself by law? The "illegal and treasonable" just seem redundant.

I'm thinking 7 people who signed the Declaration was hung by the British a few day later. I forget where I learned this.

This is a movie clip - doesn't count as a political statement IMO. While the teacher's comment had the wrong spin, it was somewhat accurate.
I understand it's a movie clip. Is a politician saying it in front of a crowd? No, of course not. Are there hundreds of thousands, or even millions of people who listen to rhetoric like this every day on the tube? Yes. Are they susceptible to believing it after a while? Very much so.
