I just do not get all deep snuggly attached to them save for a few. They are projects to me. Once done and running, and my friends have all ran them its OK to let them go. I miss the .308's as I don't have any serious car killers in the safe anymore.

The pieces I was never going to let go were taken from me by a sneaky POS 1st "X" never ever to be forgiven.

Well, she is deceased now but I still hate her for that :poop: move.
Maybe you need a 50BMG rifle ..... it's hard to get tired of those ! ;)

Speaking of big caliber stuff, while loading up some ammo for one of them today I was looking at a project to mount an old Zeiss ZF4 like the one on my broomhandle rifle on the gun that eats this stuff. Can't find rings and have been asking around if anybody makes them or modifies rings to fit.

The ZF4 is a wonderful scope, great glass,, inexpensive and solidly built, however it's from Karl Ulbrich's era of east germany so it doesn't fit anything today.

Back in the 80s people were feeding the M2s at about .90 per round, blowing through a 96 round can. The MG-42 was still the tops as a $/minute gun though. I don't think unless people are firing flak cannons it will ever be eclipsed, like Lamar Odum in a high end Vegas club.
