Exactly
I dont give a **** how many people start dying, I'm not locking down again and im sure im not the only one who feels this way.
Anyone that wants to try and force me into quarantine better pack a big lunch.

Unless some new facts arise, us old folks need to mind our p's and q's and take care. The rest of the genpop should go back to abby normal.

Can you be more specific? That describes any woman i've ever known

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/05/01/whitmer-protest-gop-lawsuit/

In its efforts to curb Whitmer’s powers, the legislature also passed a bill Thursday that would have begun reopening businesses with restrictions, nixed Whitmer’s stay-at-home order and codified most of her other orders so that the legislature would have more authority over them. Whitmer said she would veto the bill, adding that she would not support legislation intended to limit her power to protect the state.

Who said it?

There is no reason to be walking around wearing a mask. When you are in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel better, and might even block a droplet,” he said with almost an eyeroll, “but it’s not providing the perfect protection people think it is, and often there are unintended consequences…”

OK, so now you're taking your medical advice from a lawyer writing an opinion piece on a right-wing outlet?

If I was Leadeye: Always follow the money.

She makes money by writing opinions that are widely accepted by conservatives. If she wants to keep making money doing that, then she better write about how masks are dumb, and a government plot to steal underwear for profit.

It's not the government, for once

Not sure if it has been posted yet but pretty interesting. The short of it is 43% of deaths are in nursing homes.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/theapo...jXdxtXCmve77b46uPhPW4gsQlNcGP3_I#7132b91474cd

so... nursing homes

estimated 1.5 million US residents in them. annual mortality is about 35%, or 525,000. that means in three months we'd expect 129,000 ECF deaths in a normal time interval. and you're saying 43% of our 100,000 deaths are in nursing homes in 3 months?

is there data to show an additional 80,000 ECF deaths above what we'd expect?

I personally am not saying anything. This could be all Horse@#$% for all I know. It seem like its par for the course with "covid facts" and "data" as they seem to change week to week.

What I have learned from participating in this thread.

1. Covid Deaths are way overestimated.
2. More people die by % everyday in nursing homes from many causes other than Covid
3. Therefore COVID deaths in old people are way overestimated and are probably really equal to the rate among 20 years olds.

Probably save to say that the actual COVID death rate among the elderly is actually lower than 30-40 year olds.

I LOVE this story:

https://www.nwitimes.com/news/local...e4a4f0b.html#tracking-source=home-top-story-1

5ed02c2e8cc5d.image.jpg

The message, which appeared on the billboard at the intersection of Indian Boundary and Calumet roads, read, "Viruses are dead! You have been lied to."
It went on to read, "Google for proof. Are viruses alive?"

The billboard was created and paid for by Valparaiso man Jim Dandy O'Kelly, who calls himself the founder of the new Anti-Vaccination League of America. He hosts a website at shotsoftruth.com.

"The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) lies about living viruses," he said by phone Thursday. "They lie about everything with viruses."

O'Kelly, who said he is a healthy 78-year-old and has not been to a doctor since 1964, does not believe the coronavirus has been sickening and killing people around the world.

"The people dying are dying of natural disease," he said.

There it is:

O'Kelly claims he is self-educated on the topic and pursued his education and cause after his daughter was affected by a Smallpox vaccine in 1970.

Every community needs its characters to give the place charm. This is one of ours.

https://www.theguardian.com/science...-which-caused-who-to-halt-trials-for-covid-19

The findings prompted researchers from around the world to reassess their own clinical trials of the drug for preventing and treating Covid-19. The World Health Organization halted all its trials involving hydroxychloroquine due to the concerns raised in the study about its efficacy and safety.

The(fake) study.
https://www.thelancet.com/journals/...il&utm_term=0_90d9431cd5-a5c0a299a0-126967137

Why post it and call it a fake study? Because the data they claim to have used to write the study was never requested. They made up numbers.

"The federal health department confirmed to Guardian Australia that the data collected on notifications of Covid-19 in the National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System was not the source for informing the trial."

"Victoria’s department confirmed the study’s results relating to the Australian data did not reconcile with the state’s coronavirus data, including hospital admissions and deaths. The NSW Department of Health also confirmed it did not provide the researchers with the data for its databases."

“Usually to submit to a database like Surgisphere(company that provided all data for the study) you need ethics approval, and someone from the hospital will be involved in that process to get it to a database,” he said. He said the dataset should be made public, or at least open to an independent statistical reviewer.
More at the article. In short the study itself became a hit piece against a drug with no scientific evidence behind it.

The company (Surgisphere)will not release where it received the data from or release the data itself.

Not sure why they where even involved in a clinacal trial study in Australia, but the WHO used the study to stop ALL hydroxychloroquine studies as did many governenments.

One company is Chicago who will not release how it gathered data or the data itself used for a peer reviewed study just stopped almost all clinical trials worldwide.
