Richardson has done an outstanding job of beating "perfect" DB coverage of his receivers. What does this mean?
What does this mean?
Yes, this. I should have added that the chart means that Richardson is facing "perfect" coverage more than any other QB in the league, and is performing better than all but 2 QBs when faced with "perfect" coverage. It probably means three things.
1) Richardson is elite against man coverage. Mostly because of his athleticism and arm talent.
2) Our receivers (outside of Downs) are terrible at getting separation against man coverage.
3) If/when Richardson learns to read zone defenses (similar to his really efficient week 1 performance against the Jags), he’ll be unstoppable.
Take the quick/easy read against zone coverage.
When they’re in man coverage, use your athleticism to give your receivers time to get open and/or keep it yourself to keep the chains moving.
