They just haven't been competing for a while and when the Army dumped their M4, that was the end. It's just a matter of time.

Exactly. Colt had no plan whatsoever to identify a replacement (non-.gov) market of people they hadn't pissed off yet or identify products to sell that had any marketability. Unfortunately, they came to the asinine conclusion long ago that their custom shop could supply what civilian market they needed. News flash! Most potential customers are not millionaires who buy guns that take longer to complete than did their homes.

It is a shame that so much potential was wasted here.

I had 3 colt AR's pre-ban. They all ran very well.
I had to sell them during a medically induced crisis. Never willing to pay the price point for another.

I figure, they could go the way of Jeep,Dan Wesson,Harley-Davidson,etc.Someone will buy the rights, move production to a friendlier, low tax,gun friendly state, and not miss a beat. Icons never die.

Recent years colt guns suck. Quality had taken a true dive. Once freedom group buys them it will just get worse. You can buy a brand new colt M4 style AR for $650 right now.
