Well, like the title says, I’m looking for some new recommendations to either read or listen to. I’m a huge Clancy fan, read The Hunt for Red October every fall. I just finished Red Storm Rising for probably the 7273rd time. (In my humble opinion, his best work) I just….always seem to read the same books to scratch the Cold War itch. Anyone got any hidden gems I need to know about?? Anyone dig a fallout shelter with there dad??

Larry Bond. His novels from the early 90’s are fantastic. Red Phoenix, Vortex and Cauldron.

He also co-authored Red Storm Rising and after reading his other books I think his contribution to Red Storm was greater than Clancy’s.

Dale Brown - Flight of the Old Dog will get you started.
The most recent ones (after 2000?) are a bit more sci-fi, but the early books are top notch secret Air Force stuff.
Mark Greaney - Gray Man series.
Brad Thor - Scot Harvath series.
David Poyer - Dan Lenson series. Naval surface action from the 70's into the near future.
Brad Taylor - Pike Logan series.
Richard Herman - mainstream Air Force stuff.
